【Introduction】
Dietary supplement firstly became a separate category of food in Western countries, while it is still an emerging industry in China, resulting in a more fragmented dietary supplements market. So up to now, our dietary supplements market still rely heavily on imports. With the development of average living standard of Chinese people, more and more Chinese people’s focus changed from “eat more” to “eat healthily”, and Chinese people paid more attention on how to eat healthier. Also during this period, more dietary supplement products can be found in the Chinese market. The enthusiasm of oversea enterprises for the Chinese market keeps rising, big crowds of them entered and tried to grab a share of this huge market.
In this background, knowing how can the dietary supplements enter Chinese market and knowing what are related regulations on these products becomes more and more important. In China, dietary supplements can be divided into normal food and health food, depending on the detail ingredients used and its functions. As ordinary food, the access process is simple; while for health food, you will need to register or file your products first.
